Greenfield College
Independence Day 2015

Students and faculty were entertained by the nursery and kg students in celebration of Independence day.  Sporting handmade hats and accessories, our youngest students sang and danced as the older students cheered.  Hats off to the KG team who prepared such a wonderful show for us.

Would You Know What to Do?

GFC administration showed its commitment to safety by hosting a session of the Lebanese Red Cross.  In a 90 minute awareness program developed especially for young people, the sixth grade classes gained valuable insights into emergency procedures.  The Red Cross trainer covered topics such as bleeding, choking, burns and unconscious victims. Students and staff enjoyed the presentation and are more aware of the proper management techniques for some of these situations.

Running for a Cause

Over 120 students and teachers ran the Beirut Marathon 5K on Sunday, November 8, 2015.  The GFC team ran to support the charity Brave Heart, which raises money and awareness for children with congenital heart disease.  Once again, our students showed commitment to their local community and proved that educating the mind goes hand in hand with improving physical health. Greenfield coaches and staff are constantly seeking opportunities for students to engage in activities that truly matter.

Model United Nations Inauguration Ceremony

Ines Buandes, the school librarian, attended the Global Classrooms Model United Nations Inauguration on Saturday, November 7, 2015.  Also in attendance was Shannon Jaber, MUN adviser. 18 GFC students will participate in the 11th MUN sessions held at Lebanese American University.  Over 5 sessions, our students will mimic the UN to gain conflict resolution skills as well as developing diplomatic experience.
